A couple weeks ago, I had the opportunity to travel to Bannack Ghost Town in Montana. It was such a PERFECT day! The sun was shining, and it was warm! I went with a group of about 70 students to help with the models, and to be a group leader. I was able to help with their camera settings, and with new techniques. I had a blast working with them and teaching. Most of the time I spent there was dedicated to helping the students as well as manning the auxiliary lighting for the models. But toward the end, Katie and I went out into the sage brush to shoot for a few minutes. (Katie is also a photographer, and she’s INCREDIBLE! Check out her site here!)
The lighting was PERFECT, the sun was getting lower so the light was so warm. Katie KNOWS how to model. She’s amazing, and she follows direction so well. I ADORE working with her every chance I get. These portraits are some of my favorite, the way the sage brush is blurred in the background is just so beautiful. I used my Nikon D90 with a 70-200mm lens. If you ever get a chance to go to Bannack, I HIGHLY recommend it.
